I don't understand all the reviews for this dress raving about the quality, this dress is SO cheaply made! I was so excited to get this dress, I couldn't wait to see it on my baby girl, but the second I saw it in person I was so disappointed, for several different reasons. 1) it is not poofy like in the picture. I thought I was getting a poofy princess style dress, but it is basically one layer of fabric with a liner and one little ruffle of netting sewn on to the bottom of the liner. The pink polka dot fabric is just a sewn on ruffle, not an underskirt like I thought. Doesn't poof out at all. I have had to go and buy a little tutu to put underneath the dress to make it stick out. 2) the fabric is very thin, and very cheap feeling, more like what a dress from Family Dollar or Walmart would be made out of. Not what I expected, especially for a thirty five dollar dress 3) the fabric tie on the top of the back of the dress was hanging by a thread on one side so I'm gonna have to sew that back on already. Again, not something I would expect of a dress that costs what this one did. Bottom line, it is a cute dress, but not worth the price. Had I seen this at the store in person for ten or fifteen bucks, I would have bought it, but for thirty five it would have gone straight back on the rack! It's Walmart quality for a Dillard's price. I would return it, but I'm afraid I won't be able to get a replacement in time, so I guess we're stuck with it. It will do, but I am rather disappointed with it. I was torn between this, and the Mudpie first birthday tutu with matching shirt and hat, and I wish I had gone with the Mudpie. Their stuff is really cute, and much better quality. Another thing, I wish I had read all the reviews, because I didn't know the 1 on the cake was detachable and could be replaced with a heart or a 2. That's something that Amazon should put in the product discription. If I had known that, I would have bought it a size bigger, like 18 mos, so that she might be able to wear it for her second birthday as well, or at least wear it a few more times to try and get our money's worth out of it. I bought the 12 mos size thinking that the one was sewn on, that it was for a first birthday only. Anyway, sorry about the long review, but I just feel very strongly that I have been ripped off by this purchase and wanted to warn anyone else considering this dress so they at least know what they are getting into if they decide to buy it.
